Neon Foundation Makes Donation to Columbia University's Climate School in partnership with Stone Barns to Support Environmental Research and Sustainable Agriculture

January 28, 2025 – The Neon Foundation is proud to announce a series of ongoing donations to Columbia University’s Climate School. This contribution will support cutting-edge environmental research, sustainable agriculture initiatives, and the development of innovative solutions to address the global climate crisis.

The Neon Foundation’s donation to Columbia University’s Climate School will help advance the school’s mission to lead global efforts in climate science and policy. The funds will be directed towards expanding research capabilities and funding new interdisciplinary programs that tackle the urgent challenges of climate change—from reducing greenhouse gas emissions to promoting climate resilience in vulnerable communities.

The Neon Foundation’s donation to Columbia Climate School's partnership with Stone Barns will help enhance the center’s work in regenerative agriculture, sustainable farming techniques, and local food systems. Stone Barns serves as a hub for innovative agricultural research, farmer training, and community outreach, fostering a deeper understanding of how sustainable farming practices can combat climate change and promote environmental health. There are three key areas of work and research the School and Stone Barns cover: regenerative agriculture and sustainable farming, how these research developments can be applied on a markets and governmental policy level, and how nutrition can directly impact the health and wellbeing of communities.

This new partnership underscores the Neon Foundation’s commitment to fostering solutions that address both the environmental and agricultural dimensions of the climate crisis. By supporting organizations that are at the forefront of research and education in these areas, the Foundation is cementing its broader commitment to driving sustainable solutions, supporting education, and creating partnerships that work toward a healthier planet and more resilient global communities.
