The Neon Foundation Establishes Scholarship at the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy

May 9, 2025 — The Neon Foundation has announced the establishment of the Neon Foundation Scholarship at the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy, reinforcing its commitment to advancing healthcare education and supporting the next generation of pharmacy leaders.

The scholarship will provide partial, yet significant, yearly tuition to students pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, helping reduce financial barriers while enabling recipients to focus on academic excellence, patient care, research, and service. The initiative reflects the Neon Foundation’s broader mission to invest in education and healthcare solutions that create long-term community impact.

Administered by the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy, the Neon Foundation Scholarship will be awarded based on merit, financial need, and service/leadership qualities, recognizing students who demonstrate strong academic performance and a commitment to making a meaningful impact in the field of pharmacy.

“The Neon Foundation’s mission to invest in the future of healthcare and education aligns with the mission of the College of Pharmacy, and we are extremely grateful that the Nee family is providing this much-needed funding to help bring some of the country’s most talented students and future leaders to U-M,” said Terra Khanna, Executive Director of Pharmacy Development and Alumni Engagement.

“This gift could not have come at a better time, as we seek new funding opportunities to help continue developing the next generation of pharmacy leaders,” remarked Dean Vicki Ellingrod.

The first two recipients of this scholarship will be named starting in 2025, with a new student added each subsequent academic year.
